PHASE I - COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
Community Forum
On September 22,2021 at Pancho Anaya's Bakery a community forum was held by KWMS. It was a come-and-go event where the community could share their feedback quickly regarding several items of Kendall-Whittier.
From KWMS Website:
Stations will include highlighting parts of Kendall Whittier that need more attention, priorities within the district, ideas for future programming and potentials businesses to recruit. There will even be a station specifically for children. Attendees should be able to participate in all the stations in about 10 minutes.
Representatives from Kendall Whittier Main Street, Oklahoma Main Street Center and Main Street America will be there to monitor and provide additional discussion opportunities (in Spanish as well as English) for anyone interested in a more in-depth conversation.
“It’s important as we vision and move forward into the future that we be more intentional about including Kendall Whittier’s Hispanic residents and heritage,” Jackson Seay said. “We will make sure everything about the forum is accessible to our Spanish-speaking neighbors.”
Unfortunately, I was not able to attend but Jessica Jackson Seay and Sydney Alison (KWMS Staff) gladly shared with me photos and the feedback the community gave. All the community's input will be of great assistance for my project and future design ideas.
Foro Comunitario
El 22 de septiembre de 2021 en la panadería de Pancho Anaya se llevó a cabo un foro comunitario por parte de KWMS. Fue un evento de ir y venir en el que la comunidad pudo compartir sus comentarios rápidamente con respecto a varios elementos de Kendall-Whittier.

Las estaciones incluirán partes destacadas de Kendall Whittier que necesitan más atención, prioridades dentro del distrito, ideas para la programación futura y posibles empresas para reclutar. Incluso habrá una estación específicamente para niños. Los asistentes deberían poder participar en todas las estaciones en unos 10 minutos.
